Great weather=GREAT fishing!!

A week of great weather with highs in the 70's and a steady South wind has brought the water temps up almost 8 degrees on the flats in the past 5 days!  The redfish have become much more aggressive.  The reds and specks have been smashing flies and soft plastic baits!  We've also had some luck with topwater lures too.  The fly fishing is going to keep improving over the next couple of weeks with more tailing activity in super shallow water.  With the water temps up, fishing along the beach should really begin to take off.  Lots of cobia have already been caught, but the peak of the season should be just ahead.  We're really looking forward to the big jacks and hard fighting bonito that will swimming close to the beach!

Spring Break Flats Fishing Is Getting Hot!

The redfish bite has really turned on just in time for Spring Break!  Even though early morning temperatures are still chily, the water has warmed up enough to really get the redfish fired up!  Fly fishing as well as light tackle spin fishing have both been very productive.  I've seen schools of fish fighting to get to the fly.  It's been an awesome sight!  We're running lots of very productive trips right now.  So, take a break from the beach, and get in on some of the great fishing out the flats!
